Surface Finishing Since 1978
Plating on aluminum is perhaps one of the more challenging subsets of plating due to its propensity to form a surface skin of aluminum oxide almost immediately when exposed to oxygen in the atmosphere. This being the case, aluminum requires a special pretreatment protocol incorporating the application of a zincate. But, the complexity doesn’t end there. Further complicating the plating of aluminum are the varying alloys that have to be taken in account and treated appropriately. Failure to do so will result in deposits that blister either post plating or worse……out in the field. Technical Plating has a long history of plating aluminum and various alloys.
